Cold exposure

Is it bad to use the cold tub directly after training?

There is a lot of debate around this topic, but to sum it up for you.
Using cold therapy directly after hyperthrophy (muscle growth) training can blunt the stimulus/adaption from it, so it's better to wait 4 hours
until getting into the cold. On the flip side, cold exposure after all
other types of hard trainings like intense running or biking does not
seem to block the adaption response and will likely help boost recovery and give you that extra push leading up to competition so you can perform at your best.

Who should not partake in cold water immersion?

We recommend that anyone with a preexisting medical condition consult with a Doctor prior to Cold Water Immersion . Cold Water Immersion can cause adverse reactions in those who are not completely healthy. If you are Elderly persons, pregnant,
and those with health
conditions requiring medical care,
especially cardiovascular and
neurological - should consult with a doctor before using this product

How long and how cold to get the best benefits?

Any form of cold will benefit us. Anything that's stressful enough to us will force the body to adapt or benefit. As you become more experienced you can keep dropping the temp and keep increasing the time.

We recommend starting at 1 min at around the 10 degree mark if you have little experience.

We do not recommend plunging over 5 minutes unless you are very experienced. The whole point of the cold is to stress the body accutely.

Product use

How does the water stay clean?

Our chiller has built in ozone which is the gold standard of sanitation and cleaning and more powerful and efficient than standard UV treatments as well as a pre in line filter and an inside 20micron filter so you don't have to worry. We still recommend changing the water every month*.

This will be more in high use settings

How often do I have to empty the water?

For the best performance of your Tubs ice bath, we suggest replacing the water on a 2-3 weekly * basis assuming daily usage of the bath. If the water is getting mercy it should get changed.

*this will be more in a high use setting

We suggest taking a shower before each plunge, and minimising the introduction of dirt and particles into the ice bath by utilising the top cover after each use.

It is important to note ozone cleans the water on a bacteria level, while the filters are cleaning the chiller for matter such as dust, dirt, debris, and body fat, hair ect.

How often should i change the filter?

To maintain the longevity of your filter, it is advisable to replace it every 1-2 months dependant on use*. When used daily it will be around 1 month (possibly less if water isnt changed regularly) whens it looks dirty or the filter becomes flared. The chiller will stop working, if the filter is to dirty. If you notice the water flow drops the filter needs changing and the internal mesh needs to be cleaned.

It is important to note ozone cleans the water on a bacteria level, while the filters are cleaning the chiller for matter such as dust, dirt, debris, lint, body fat, hair ect.

To prolong the lifespan of your filter, we suggest taking a shower before each plunge and minimising the introduction of dirt and particles into the ice bath by utilising the top cover after each use.

*in a setting with high use it is expected to be a shorter time frame, however it is hard to say with exact precision what this will be, it will be trial and error.

Should the chiller be on or off while using?

When using the bath we suggest that the chiller unit is turned
off. Even though we have had this fully electrically tested to NZ standards.

Is there a remote? Can i schedule my plunges?

Absolutely, yes. Once you recieve your tub of choice, you will be given
easy instructions on how to download the app on your smartphone. You can turn it on from your phone and you can customise set schedules on the app
through wifi and data that allows the bath to turn on and off at preprogrammed times at the temperature you would like.

Set yours to cold when you wake up and hot when the stars come out at night and vice versa!

Are the tubs hard to set up?

The Lux and Onyx tub are as easy as unwrapping and connecting a 2 pipes (and the optional chiller box) and the classic and barrel portable tubs take around 10-15 minutes to set up out of the box. The rest depends on your hose pressure to fill up.

Easy instructions will be given with each tub on the entire setup process.

How goods the quality of the tubs?

Our inflatable tubs are the same material and thickness as a stand up paddle board using military grade materials. They're built to last in all conditions.

Our lux tub is high grade acrylic, our chiller box is high quality red cedar wood, and our lux tub lid is made from premium grade materials.

How sturdy is inflatable Tub?

All tubs use the same material as inflatable stand up paddle boards and inflatable boats. It is built to support your full body weight and they're very easy to get in and out off. Most people don’t even realize it is inflatable when using it because it is so solid!

Why have we created different versions?

With our Lux tub we wanted to create a really sleek high end design to complement beautiful homes, batches, or workplaces with
the ability to still relocate the tub. Who doesn’t want a outdoor bath you can keep at your desired constant temperature with the best water cleaning methods available?

With our inflatable tubs we wanted to create a more affordable option that doesn’t break the bank like most cold/hot tubs around the
world but making sure it still meets high quality, unlike other low end chillers on the market.

These portable tubs look tidy around the home or workplace and you still get all the same benefits in both tubs as well as it being a great portable options for all events, gyms and sporting teams.

Can the bath be left outside?

Yes, while our tubs, chillers, and components are weather resistant, we recommend keeping it in a covered or shaded area to maximise the efficiency and longevity of your system.

To maintain optimal cooling performance, it is recommended to provide overhead protection from the elements. Direct sunlight exposure can significantly impact the cooling efficiency of the tub.

Chiller can not be left outside when ambient air temperature is below 2 Degrees Celcius

For the installation of the tub, it is essential to hire a licensed electrician who can set up a weather-proof power source in close proximity to the intended tub location. It is important to note that the use of extension cords should be avoided.

What is the maximum and minimum temperature of the bath?

Tubs chiller goes down to 3 degrees celsius and the tubspro chiller goes up to 42 degrees Celsius also.

Tubspro chiller makes it much easier to fluctuate temps from eg: 3 degrees to 8 degrees.

Why Ozone?

After over a year of testing both UV and Ozone we found Ozone to be elite in keeping the water clean. With UV we found water started to smell and go slimy after a few uses.
